THE LITTLE Penang Street Market (LPSM) is three years old this year and it coincided its anniversary with the recent month-long George Town Unesco World Heritage Site one-year listing celebrations. LPSM organised a bazaar for two consecutive days (July 25 and 26), the first at Lebuh Armenian and the next day at its regular place in Upper Penang Road. Read here for a little insight into the market’s history.
Themed “Our Heritage, Our Children”, LPSM's third anniversary celebrations emphasised on Penang’s unique heritage and celebrated the future with a variety of activities through drama, music and dance, especially for and by children. Read here for all other activities during this market.

As usual, the bazaar hosted around 70 stalls, selling and displaying anything and everything from crafts made from materials local to Penang such as seeds, shells, etc, handmade jewelry, clothes, food ranging from the Eurasian’s Devil Curry to Pasembur sold by Gurney Drive’s famous Dancing Pasembur seller and so on. View slideshow below for photos of crafts exhibited and sold at the event. LPSM will be organising a fund-raising dinner on August 28, 2009, in order to ensure its continuity.
